These properties are within a short walk of the dynamic town of Pilar de la Horadada and just 3 1/2 km from the stunning Blue Flag sandy beaches on the Mediterranean. The closest beaches are at neighbouring Torre de la Horadada, which can be reached by car, or by bicycle and foot via the cycle path and walkway on the Rambla leading down to the Las Higuericas beach at Torre de la Horadada. The beaches here are backed by sand dunes and a promenade walkway extends the length of the resort to the marina and old town to the north.

San Pedro del Pinatar is less than 10 mins from Pilar which marks the start of the beaches of the Mar Menor (a large saltwater lagoon extending down to La Manga.) Here you will also find the famous Lo Pagan mud flats.

Pilar de la Horadada is situated in the south of the Region of Valencia, bordering the Region of Murcia, 66km south of the City of Alicante

Pilar is a traditional Spanish town and celebrates a number of local fiestas or festivals throughout the year, including the Medieval Market in April, Bonfires of San Juan in June together with the floral festival. The town is steeped in history and has its local fiesta or festival at the end of September culminating in a solemn mass on 12th October.

The town has many restaurants with an eclectic mix of cuisines on offer. These are located all  along the main central street -  Calle Mayor - which runs the entire length of the town. At the northern end of the town you will find the main town square (Plaza Iglesia) bordered by a number of cafes and the local church.

There are banks, supermarkets, cafes and many interesting shops in the town. There is a sports centre and a municipal indoor swimming pool for the cooler months.

The golf course of Lo Romero is less than 5 mins from Pilar de la Horadada and within 15 mins travel you can get to the golf courses at Campoamor, Las Ramblas, Las Colinas Golf and Country Club, Villamartin, Roda Golf and Mar Menor.

Pilar is located just next to the major road routes of the N332 and A7, which means that it has direct access up and down both the Costa Blanca north to Alicante, and the Costa Calida south to Cartagena.

The Dos Mares shopping and leisure complex in San Javier is a 5 min drive from Pilar de la Horadada, and here you will find a Carrefour hypermarket alongside many boutique shops. Upstairs in the centre is a large food court, multi screen cinema and a 10 pin bowling alley.

As you can see - Pilar de la Horadada is ideally located to access all the amenities you might require.

Pilar de la Horadada enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold North winds in winter.

The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees.

In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.
