Guardamar del Segura (commonly referred to as just Guardamar) is a large town located at the mouth of the River Segura, between Santa Pola and Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca. It is renowned for its many kilometres of fine sandy white beaches, with their accompanying dunes and surrounding forests. These all combine to make Guardamar a real paradise on the Costa blanca.

It has a long high street full of all kinds of shops as well as a busy market every Wednesday morning.

Guardamar has many restaurants and bars catering to a wide variety of tastes/cuisines. Many of the local restaurants offer top-quality seafood and shellfish and outstanding rice dishes, the pride of Guardamar cuisine.
