Local Area and Amenities:

El Mojón is an old fishing village with a superb beach, located at the south end of Torre de la Horadada,  on the border of the Costa Calida and the Costa Brava. El Mojon has its own beach of fine sand and clear water, which connects to the north with the beaches of Torre de la Horadada.

To the south, a short distance from El Mojon, is the Las Salinas and Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Park, the most important wetlands in the region of Murcia. Flocks of pink flamingos rest here each year. The salt works here were exploited by the Romans and are a complex network of pools. This is also the location for the famous mud baths of lo Pagan, and signifies the start of the Mar Menor.

For the energetic, the municipal sports centre of San Pedro del Pinatar is a short walk from the property.

Neighbouring Torre de la Horadada is one of the prettiest of the southern Costa Blanca beach resorts. It has an attractive coastline with numerous blue flag sandy beaches (Jesuitas Playa, Playa del Puerto and Playa de las Higuericas) and lovely seafront walks along the promenade and sand dunes. At the northern end of the town there is a delightful marina, alongside the charismatic watch tower dating from the time when pirates sailed these seas. Overlooking the marina is a lovely cliff top promenade which hosts a number of restaurants with stunning views over the marina and out to sea. Just behind this promenade you will discover the charming old town square where you will find a good selection of restaurants offering tapas, Spanish food, sea food and some international cuisines. Around the square you will also find a small selection of shops, a pharmacy and the local church. A selection of larger, more modern supermarkets can be found elsewhere in the town. A new commercial centre has just been opened about 200m from the old town square.

El Mojon has a small selection of bars and restaurants and access to supermarkets can be found at either of the main neighbouring towns: San Pedro del Pinatar or Pilar de la Horadada.
